Red Flag Petition Blog

WHEREAS: "Red Flag" Gun Confiscation laws assume the accused are guilty until proven innocent, stripping the right to due process from citizens;” and,

WHEREAS: "Red Flag" laws specifically target law-abiding citizens who have not committed a crime, in other words, it's an unconstitutional "pre-crime" program similar to what you'd expect to see in Communist China; and,

WHEREAS: Simply by being accused by a disgruntled ex or co-worker of being dangerous, "Red Flag" laws can be used to wrongfully disarm someone. Even worse, most "Red Flag" laws do not provide penalties for false accusations, and the ones that do are basically a slap on the wrist; and,

THEREFORE: I urge you, as my elected official, to vote no on all forms of Red Flag Gun Confiscation.
